10 Bollywood Songs That Are Not Original

Bollywood movies and songs are known throughout the world for their unique blend of romance and slice and life. They are not only loved within the country but in the foreign nations too. Some of the Bollywood movies have earned the highest respect that only few of the movies have achieved; they have earned both critical and financial success

Bollywood also holds the record f making maximum number of movies per year, twice the number of Hollywood. The Bollywood movies rely highly on the musical numbers, means the music composers have to go through a huge amount of pressure to live up to the expectation.

Well, it seems like the pressure has forced the composers to take an easy route.

Some of the iconic Bollywood songs are not original. Here is a list of some of your beloved songs that were slightly inspired from the foreign songs.

1. Hare Krishna Hare Ram

Movie: Bhool Bhulaiyya

Original song: My Lecon

Singer: JTL

A huge part of the movie’s success was led by its popular title track. It was both controversial and popular.

Every popular thing is destined to turn controversial anyway.

2. Dedi

Movie: Airlift

Original Song: Didi

Singer: Milk & Honey

Seems like something just more than the tune was copied here.

3. Mehbooba Mehbooba

Movie: Sholay

Original song: Say You Love Me

Singer: Demis Roussos

The movie is listed as one of the most beloved Bollywood movies. The song is equally known, but it seems like the song had some influences from the song Say you love me.

4. Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaae

Movie: Jurm

Original song: Five Hundred Miles

Singer: Peter, Paul and Mary

The song has such a catch to it that no one can stay mad on you if you sing it properly to them.

Well, yeah this is actually a copied tune.

5. Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha

Movie: Baaton Baaton Mein

Original song: Johnny Comes Marching Home

Singer: Patrick Sarsfield Gilmore

It did hurt me too to know this song was not an original piece.

6. Dil Tadap Ke Keh Raha Aaj Kya

Movie: Madhumati

Original Song: Szla Dzieweczka Do Gajeczka

Singer: Polish Song

It seems copy and paste was invented way before color media existed.

7. Jeewan Ke Safar Mein

Movie: Munimji

Original song: Mexican Hat Dance

Now we know why the song has a sassy sound to it.

Sorry, I am bad with puns.

8. Tumse Milke

Movie: Parinda

Original song: When I Need You

Singer: Leo Sayer

Even if this is not an original piece, I will still prefer the original one.

The melody of the influenced one is more striking.

9. Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai

Movie: Woh Lamhe

Original song: Tak Bisakah

Singer: Peterpan

This one is a twist. Though I love the copied one, I find the find the original more compelling.

10. Pehli Nazar

Movie: Race

Original song: Sarang Hae Yo

Singer: Kim Hyung Su

Sometimes the influenced pieces are more influential than the original.
