The lifestyle of Delhi is not only rich but saturated with places one may keep visiting to spend the day. But what about the nights? The Delhiites are known for their constant night outs and their love for the nocturnal life has taken to various places of the night.
India gate is a popular night out destination for the Delhiites at night but it may get quite boring if you visit it on a constant basis.
This is a list of places that you can visit in Delhi during the middle of the night.
1. Chor Minar
Location: Hauz Khas
Alauddin Khilji had a strict law against thieves. One may assume it must include some humiliation or few years of imprisonment, these days theft ain’t considered a major crime.
Though, Alauddin Khilji had a different perception. The decapitated head of the thieves were placed on a spear that used to be spiked on the tower.
2. Khooni Jheel
The lake is infamous for being the site of multiple murders.
There is a rumour that says the lake is haunted and one may experience paranormal phenomena. Probably not a decent place to spend time with friends, but what else can be more thrilling.
On a side note, you can avoid unwanted crowd.
3. Mutiny House
Location: Kashmiri gate
The monument has a patriotic background. It was established to honour the lamented officials during the rebellion of 1857. So it becomes the obvious location of the spirits of the deceased to linger.
A sequel of 1920 on this site is sure to happen.
4. Jamali Kamali Tomb and Mosque
Location: Mehrauli Archaeological Park
There are places that are thrilling and adventurous even in the day light. This is one of them.
In 1535, two acclaimed saints were buried here. It should have been the foundation of a religious monument, but the fate has its own way to twist things.
People have claimed to hear voices and even being slapped by invisible forces, that’s even in the day broad light.
5. Nicholson’s Cemetery
Location: Civil Lines
If you are looking for something that will help you to relive your childhood friendship, pick something that we all enjoyed as kids. And what could be more interesting than playing a game of hide and seek. If it seems reasonable to you, you may need a perfect venue to play it with your friends.
In that case, look no further. Here is your solution. There is nothing like a game of hide and seek played in the cemetery, and this one is haunted.
6. House No. W-3
This house is abandoned for a while now. The reason ain’t pleasant, so be prepared for it.
A murdered couple was found in the water tank of the house. The real shocking part is yet to come; the victims were an elderly couple. The inhuman act only shows how dark the human heart has become.
Neighbours have repeatedly complained about the sobbing or sometimes screaming noises coming from the now abandoned house.
7. Sanjay Van
Location: near Vasant Kunj
Children are adorable, aren’t they? What about the spirits of children?
Are they considered equally adorable or are they considered more sinister?
One may hear the shouting and screaming of the spirits that are still dwelling in the forest. If you are not scared of young children, you are free to visit it.
8. Fort of Feroz Shah Kotla
Location: Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg
Disney’s Aladdin may have presented the djinn as a goofy and a comedic character, but not all djinns are like that. This fort is apparently haunted by djinn and locals make sure to keep the supernatural entity haunting the monument in check.
Every Tuesday, locals come to offer their praying.
If you visit this place, make sure to do it on Tuesday.
9. Bhuli Bhatiyari ka Mahal
This is another Marvellous spot that you may visit to spend the night. There are strange noises that one may hear all night long, spooky right.
The name itself will give away all the details of what lies ahead.
So it will be a trip to both royalty and house of horrors at the same time.
10. Delhi Cantt
Location: Close to Satya Niketan
This is probably one of the most haunted locations within Delhi. This is known in the whole country.
A lady in white will ask for lift and if you keep on moving, she (or it) will keep chasing you till the end.
So have sweet nightmares.
